New Projects DM Wall System to launch new products Nina Varghese
Chennai , July 4 DM Wall System Co (P) Ltd, a Korean company manufacturing aluminium composite panels (ACP) for building exteriors, is expanding its manufacturing facility at Sriperumbudur, near Chennai. The new product lines will include interior panels and corrugated ACP sheets, according to company officials. The expansion follows an increased demand for aluminium composite panels (ACP) by real estate developers in Chennai and Bangalore. The company plans to invest over Rs 13 crore to set up a plant for a second and third line of ACP for interiors. DM Wall System, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Dae Myung Wall System Co Ltd of Korea, was set up in 1999 with an investment of Rs 13 crore to supply ACP for the Tidel Software Park, at Chennai Mr Badal Shah, Area Manager, DM Wall Systems, said that the plant in Sriperumbudur has a capacity to manufacture 50,000 sq. ft. of ACP per day in two sizes - 8 feet and 4 feet width. The new products will be available in 38 colours and different finishes such as granite, wood and marble. These can replace mica and plywood, which are currently in use in most homes, Mr Shah said. The new plant will also manufacture corrugated ACP sheets, which are widely used in car parks, bus stands and factories. Mr Shah said that the company is also coming out with a heritage theme for the Indian market, like interior panels depicting traditional designs or subjects. Also in the pipeline are panels for children's rooms, which have themes like teddy bears, butterflies and cartoon characters. He said that the panels have a 50-year guarantee, and are rust and termite proof. They are suitable for false ceiling, partitions, tabletops and kitchen cabinets. The raw material is imported from Korea and the price ranges from Rs 70 to Rs 145 per square foot.
