Credit disbursement in Thiruvananthapuram dist

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Priority credit disbursement by banks during the year 2003- '04 in Thiruvananthapuram district has crossed Rs1,217 crore against a targeted Rs 937 crore.

This was revealed at the District Level Review Committee meeting hosted here by the lead bank, Indian Overseas Bank. The services sector recorded the highest achievement of Rs 874.87 crore while agriculture sector notched Rs 363.33 crore and the industries sector, Rs 13.52 crore.

Total deposit for the district amounted to Rs 9,980.29 crore and advances, Rs 6,291.62 crore. Credit-deposit ratio for the district improved from 54 to 63 per cent, ahead of the State CD ratio of around 48 per cent.
