New Delhi , July 5

WITH the Opposition set to boycott the Railway Budget presentation on Tuesday, the Railways Minister, Mr Laloo Prasad Yadav, has said he hopes that "better sense would prevail".

"I will present my Budget to the people of this nation. Whether anyone boycotts the proceedings or not is of little significance to the Budget. But I feel that the NDA leadership should accept its defeat gracefully and allow the constitutional process to take place," Mr Yadav told reporters on Monday.

Mr Yadav will present his maiden Railway Budget on Tuesday but the NDA has said that it would not participate in the proceedings to mark its protest against, what it terms, as "tainted ministers" in the Dr Manmohan Singh-led United Progressive Alliance Government.

The Opposition paralysed both houses of Parliament on Monday on the tainted ministers issue.

Meanwhile, the Railways has announced that the annual time table, which comes into effect on July 1, will now come into effect on September 1 owing to the delay in the presentation of the Budget.
