Commodity Exchanges NCDEX begins trading in wheat futures Our Bureau
Mumbai , July 6 NCDEX on Tuesday commenced futures trading in wheat with significant participation from its members. About 950 tonnes of wheat were traded in the first half of the session. More than 35 members participated in the trading, according to an exchange release. The traded value of wheat was about Rs 75 lakh and the ratio of open interest to quantity traded was 62.76 per cent. "Wheat contract has commenced with a bang on our exchange. It is significant to note that on its first day and during the first half session, the value traded had been significant with active participation by our members," said Mr Narendra Gupta, Chief Business Officer, NCDEX Ltd. The contract is for standard mill quality wheat. The initial contracts available for trading are for September 20, , October 20, November 19, and December 20.
