Sify acquires EAP; to offer assurance

SIFY Ltd is set to launch a new line of business - information assurance - following its recent acquisition of EAP Global.

According to a press release from Sify Ltd, the new line of business, Sify Assure, will offer the information assurance services in the domestic and international markets.

EAP Global provides information assurance consulting solutions based on a proprietary `information assurance framework.'

Services offered include information security services, business continuity planning and certification and accreditation services. The consultation model combined onsite services with offshore support and remote managed services.

The Sify press release did not mention the cost of acquisition.

There is a need for independent assurance of the quality of information over the Internet. With Sify Enterprise Solutions providing networking solutions, information assurance services will complement the services, the release said.

Quoting Mr. Venky Somasundaram, CEO, EAP Global, the release said that the acquisition will provide the networking expertise to deliver EAP's service globally. EAP is in the fourth year of operations.
