Waive stamp duty on export bills: FIEO

New Delhi , July 6

THE Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) has urged the Government to do away with the stamp duty on export bills.

In a statement, the FIEO President, Mr Rafeeque Ahmed, hoped that the Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, would withdraw this levy on exporters.

Currently, exporters are required to affix foreign bill stamps on their usance bills of above 90 days and up to 180 days.
