Our Bureau

Hyderabad , July 9

"IMPROVEMENT in productivity is the only answer to the problems that is plaguing the industry," says Mr B. Ramachandra Rao, Executive Director of BHEL.

"It is the only path to national prosperity," he said while delivering the keynote address at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organised daylong workshop on `Integrated Workforce Development' for the shop floor managers and workers here on Friday.

The workshop was aimed at increasing productivity of the employees at shop floor. "The idea is to provide them with the required skills to execute their jobs in a better way and to equip them with the tools and techniques of quality assurance, productivity enhancement, and cost control," a CII press release said.

Referring to the resource gap in productivity, Mr M. Venkatacharya, Director of Productivity Council of India, pointed out that stepping up of productivity was a must in order to overcome the hurdle of shortfall in resources.
