KBDO plea to Government

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Building Designers Organisation (KBDO) has appealed to the State Government to take immediate steps for the protection of the Halcyon Castle at Kovalam, standing next to the erstwhile India Tourism Development Corporation property (ITDC) and which has been in the eye of a storm in the context of takeover bid by a private hotelier group.

In a statement here, Mr Mahesh K. Pillai, General Secretary of the organisation, said that it was the duty of the State Government to protect the monument and take steps for declaring it as a heritage building.
