Kalam to address AP Assembly session

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , July 11

THE President, Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, will address a special session of the State Assembly on Wednesday.

In doing so he will become the second President after late Neelam Sanjiva Reddy to address such a session. Sanjiva Reddy, who hailed from the State, addressed the joint session of the Assembly and Legislative Council way back in 1978.

Mr K. Rosaiah, Finance and Legislative Affairs Minister, had said that the agenda of the Budget session would be slightly modified to accommodate the President's speech.

After addressing the Assembly, the President will proceed to the Hi-Tec City to inaugurate the CII-Sohrabji Godrej Business Centre (GBC).

The GBC is joint initiative of the State Government, the house of Godrej and CII. The USAID offers technical support for the centre.

The centre is the first building outside the US to get a Platinum rating.
