New Delhi , July 12

MOBILE service provider AirTel has appointed Madison Media as its media planning and buying agency for all media except outdoors. Earlier, Total Media Edge was responsible for media planning while Carat was in charge of media buying.

Said Mr Atul Bindal, Group CMO and Director (Mobility), Bharti Tele-Ventures, "As AirTel expands its footprints to the remaining six mobile circles in the country, we will be the only GSM player with such an expanse. As such, it will only be prudent on our part to strive for better synergies through superior planning. As a first step we have consolidated the media buying and planning functions and entrusted Madison with the responsibility."
