Telecommunications BSNL launches voice response system in AP Our Bureau
Hyderabad , July 13 BSNL, in association with VoiceGate Technologies India, has announced the launch of BSNL Infoline, an IVRS (interactive voice-based response system) that provides round-the-clock information on BSNL telecom services. The Chief General Manager of BSNL, Andhra Pradesh Circle, Mr Sanjaya Kumar, said: "This service would be helpful to those seeking information on the packages available in basic telephone service, cellular phone service and WLL-based services offered by BSNL. The caller is charged at local call rate if calling from within Hyderabad and Secunderabad and regular 95-dialling charges of calling from outside Hyderabad but is within the State. This service is based on a 180 second pulse." The Managing Director of VoiceGate, Mr Syed Mohamed, said: "VoiceGate has teamed up with the Andhra Pradesh Government to provide services under Rashtravaani on water bills and property tax. We have also incorporated service encompassing academic results, passport information service and cricket updates." Further, this call-in facility hosts detailed information like points of availability of the products and services along with the contact number as a pre-recorded information through this service. To address problems of STD and ISD codes, VoiceGate has arranged staff to help through manual backup service. However, this is available only between 9.30 am and 8 p.m. In addition to these services, information in case of ISDN services, Internet services, I-Net services, Centrex services and host of other BSNL value-added services can now be obtained by dialling 1250211 or 9540-1250211 depending on the origin of the call anytime. Alongside this, all phone numbers of service utilities such as hospitals, fire, childline, cooking gas supply and complaints have been provided in this service.
