HYDERBAD: RangaReddy district has been selected for bio-diesel plantation. At the initial stage, plantations on 10,000 hectares of government land will be taken up on trial basis to instill confidence among the farmers.

The Minister for Mines and Geology, Ms P. Sabita Indira Reddy, said a committee headed by the District Collector has been constituted to work out allotment of government land for this purpose. Forty-three special nurseries will be set up for growing plants.

With regard to cloud seeding experiments, Tandur, Vikarabad, Pargi and part of Chevella have been selected. These also form the catchment area for the reservoirs feeding water to Hyderabad, she said, according to an official release.
