Intel, Hutch plan smart phone apps

NEW DELHI: Intel and Hutch have announced that they would jointly work on the development of smart phone applications in India. "Today's consumers are looking at smart phones to provide a unique experience that can't be achieved by traditional mobile phones," Mr Harit Nagpal, Chief Marketing Officer of Hutch said in a statement.

"We are excited to collaborate with key international technology partners like Intel to develop applications for smart phones that will benefit everyone from today's busy executives to youth who enjoy playing games on their handhelds."

According to Mr Jayant Murty, Director (Marketing), South Asia Intel Technology Ltd, with the convergence of computing and communication, devices like smart phones, based on Intel Xscale technology, provide numerous opportunities for new applications.
