Warwick honours Venu Srinivasan

MR Venu Srinivasan, Chairman and Managing Director, TVS Motor Company, was on Wednesday conferred an Honorary Doctorate of Science degree by the University of Warwick, UK. Mr Venu Srinivasan received the degree from Vice-Chancellor Prof. David VandeLinde.
According to a press release from the company, the university conferred this recognition on Mr Venu Srinivasan "for his excellence in manufacturing and contribution in the field of technology and research development."
Mr Venu Srinivasan is an engineering graduate from the Guindy Engineering College, Chennai. He completed his Masters in Business Administration from Purdue University, US, in 1977. He assumed office as the CEO of Sundaram-Clayton in 1979. Sundaram-Clayton is the parent company of TVS Motor.
Last year, Mr Venu Srinivasan was one of the businessmen selected by the Business Week magazine for the `Star of Asia' award, an award he received from Bill Clinton.
