HINDI News channel, Star News, has appointed Mr Santanu Mallick as their Chief Financial Officer.

Mr Mallick moves from Philips India Ltd where he was the Divisional Controller of the Lighting business for 6 years.

He has worked in several leading corporate houses, including HLL, RPG Group, Reliance Telecom and Philips India over a career span of 23 years.

"I am excited to take on the responsibility at STAR News at a time when the Indian news channel category is at the threshold of exponential growth. My focus will be to maximise financial resources that will enable Star News to establish itself as a dominant player in the category," said Mr Mallick in a statement.
