Personal Products Colgate-Palmolive Q1 net up 23 pc; to pay 15 pc interim dividend Our Bureau
Mumbai , July 16 COLGATE-PALMOLIVE (India) Ltd has reported a 23 per cent increase in net profit for the first quarter of the current fiscal to touch Rs 25.4 crore. The board of directors has declared a first interim dividend for the year ending March 31, 2005, of 15 per cent (Rs 1.50 per share). Last fiscal, the company paid a total dividend of 60 per cent (Rs 6 per share), including a one-time special 25th anniversary dividend of 12.5 per cent, that is Rs 1.25 per share. The aggressive price cuts implemented in the first quarter of last fiscal in the core toothpaste category, combined with ongoing investments in brand building, have resulted in double-digit unit volume growth during the quarter, according to a company press release. The net sales of the company during the quarter were up by 7 per cent to touch Rs 242.7 crore.
