New Products & Services Ralco Tyres launches new range Our Bureau
Hyderabad , July 16 THE Rs 300-crore Ludhiana-based Ralson (India) Ltd, and promoter of Ralco Auto Tyres, has announced the launch of its range of scooter, three-wheeler and LCV (light commercial vehicle) tyres in the market and plans to diversify into the jeep, tractor front tyre and ADV (animal-driven vehicle) tyre segments. The General Manager of Ralco Tyres, Mr G.S. Passi, said, "The company, which has invested about Rs 50 crore in a new plant to make automotive tyres, has drawn up plans to roll out tyres for the new sectors such as jeep, tractor front tyres, and ADV (animal driven vehicle) tyres, having potential for growth. However, we do not see ourselves entering the crowded market of car tyres dominated by the likes of MRF and Ceat." Addressing a press conference here to announce the launch of its new range of tyres for the two-wheeler segment, Mr Passi said the company had recently tied up with original equipment manufacturers like Hero Motors. This would ensure a steady demand for the two-wheeler range in the market. Recently, the company started exporting to Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Bahrain. The company has set up a manufacturing base for two-wheeler tyres with an installed capacity of one-lakh tyres and tubes a month. It can be ramped up to 1.5 lakh a month to meet the demand from new segments. These tyres have been tested and approved for quality by the Central Institute of Road Transport, Pune, he said.
