Human under-development

This with reference to "India at 127th slot in UNDP human development index" (Business Line, July 16).

Transparency International, a watchdog organisation for clean governance of nations, last year rated India at 83 among 133 nations. If there is one factor that has affected the economic and social development of India more than others, it is the widespread corruption.

India has had governments by various political parties and the only thing common among them is corruption. It has progressively become worse with each passing year.
