Fertiliser pricing

This is with reference to the editorial "Tilting at windmills" (Business Line July19): Financial audit and cost audit of fertiliser companies have not yielded the desired results regarding either pricing fertilisers or subsidies.

Since the taxpayer's money is utilised for giving subsidies, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India should conduct a performance audit of all fertiliser companies for a period of five years and suggest a framework for future pricing/subsidies.
