Airlines Marketing - New Products & Services Delta Air to add one more daily flight to US Our Bureau
Mumbai , July 21 IN response to the strong demand from India during the winter months, Delta Air Lines will offer an additional daily flight between Mumbai and the US via Frankfurt from November 2, 2004, to March 1, 2005. The daily seasonal service will give Delta's customers from India a second option to fly to Europe and the US, as it will complement the airline's existing year-round service from Mumbai to New York via Paris. According to an official statement, the new service will be able to connect to Delta's non-stop daily services at Frankfurt on to Delta's US gateways, including Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the airline's hub and the world's busiest airport; New York's John F. Kennedy Airport; and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. In addition, Delta's customers from India will be able to connect to codeshare services offered by its SkyTeam alliance partners within Europe. The proposed service, Delta Flight 107, will depart Mumbai at 12:01 a.m. to arrive in Frankfurt at 5:15 a.m. The flight will leave Frankfurt at 12:45 p.m. to arrive at New York's JFK Airport at 3:30 p.m. In the opposite direction, Delta Flight 106 will depart JFK Airport at 5:45 p.m. to arrive in Frankfurt at 7:40 a.m. It will depart Frankfurt at 9:45 a.m. to arrive in Mumbai at 10 p.m. The airline will operate the flight from Mumbai with a Boeing 767-300ER with a capacity to carry 204 passengers in a two-class configuration. The statement, quoting the General Manager, India, Mr Dieter Hofele, said: "Delta is continuing to see strong international growth, with our airplanes full and customer demand high. We are launching this seasonal service in response to heavy demand for a service between India, Europe and the US."
