Three-day property expo from tomorrow in Kochi

Kochi , July 21

THE Kerala Builders' Forum, the fraternity of residential developers in the State, is organising a three-day Property Expo here from Friday at Hotel Avenue Centre.

As many as 19 premier builders and 12 housing finance institutions will be participating in the show with their latest residential projects. Mr Gokulam S. Venugopal, the forum Chairman, said that Kerala's real estate field is booming and contrary to the rising land rates and housing rates, many new customers are getting attracted to various elegant housing projects.

The availability of easy home finance has brought a new vigour to the real estate industry and many professional builders are reporting high volume of sales.

As the availability of land is limited in major residential areas in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode, new housing projects are taking shape even in the suburban areas, he said.

After a very long time, he said, the real estate industry has had its comeback and many professional builders have come to the real estate market in several areas within the first half of this year alone.

The forum also urged the Government to develop the infrastructure facilities such as road, power, etc, to sustain the momentum in the real estate sector.

Steps should also be taken for faster clearance of building licence, reduction in stamp duty, training for skilled workers, control over trade unions, etc, for the benefit of the industry.

Meanwhile, a statement issued by ICICI Bank said that the bank's `Home Loans' is sponsoring the Property Expo with an offer of spot sanctions and additional benefits at the exhibition.

A customer opting for spot sanction would be offered attractive interest rates on home loans.

In addition, a free personal accident insurance is also provided with every sanction, whereby the first applicant is covered up to the principal outstanding of the loan amount.
