THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Activists of the State Bank Staff Union (Kerala Circle) joined the parent body, the All-India State Bank of India Staff Federation (AISBISF), in staging demonstrations in front of State Bank of India offices across the country on Wednesday.

This is a prelude to the all-India one-day strike declared for August 9, to press a list of demands including filling vacancies, straightening up the faulty single-window delivery system, stopping indiscriminate outsourcing of even menial jobs, review of recruitments on compassionate grounds and regularisation of part-time employees, according to Mr John Joseph, General Secretary, SBSU (Kerala Circle).

Among those who addressed the demonstrators in front of the Local Head Office of SBI here were the union President, Mr K. Raja Kurup, General Secretary, Mr John Joseph, Mr P. Surendranath Bhas, Mr M.S. Iyer, Mr Natarajan G, and Mr M. Abraham.
