ADB talks forcibly stopped in Kerala

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A team of visiting Asian Development Bank (ADB) consultants was forced to wind up discussions on various projects at the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Office following protests from a section of employees on Tuesday.

The ADB team was holding discussions with the Corporation Secretary and the heads of the Health, Engineering and Town Planning departments on the projects identified for assistance when trouble began.

The protesting employees alleged that several top ranking officials of the Corporation had been kept in the dark about the nature of discussions.
