Credit Cards & Debit Cards Hero Honda, SBI venture for co-branded card Our Bureau
Bangalore , July 21 HERO Honda has launched a co-branded credit card with State Bank of India (SBI) in Bangalore. SBI, which has more than 1.4-million subscribers till date, has joined with Hero Honda to develop a credit card especially for the two-wheeler company's Passport Programme members in the city. The Hero Honda Passport Programme members in Bangalore will be able to apply for the credit card at any of the company's dealerships in the city. The members will get this card free for the first year. On the occasion of the credit card launch here, Mr Mahesh Hiremath, Area Manager, Karnataka, Hero Honda Motors Ltd, said, "A pilot programme was conducted in April 2003 in the four metros and we are very encouraged by the response received in these cities. As a result, it has been decided to extend this programme to 60 more cities in the country." The SBI Card CEO, Mr Roopam Asthana, said, "SBI cards will extend some unique benefits to the Hero Honda Passport Programme members. These include waiver of petrol surcharge of 2.5 per cent from IOC and IBP petrol pumps, besides a tiered interest rate going down to a minimum of 1.75 per cent per month."
