Events ASCI hosts programme on urban management Our Bureau
Hyderabad , July 21 THE Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad in collaboration with the World Bank Institute has for the first time in Asia launched a three-week certification programme in urban management. The programme was inaugurated on Wednesday by the Principal, ASCI, Dr Siripurapu K. Rao. It aims to develop a cadre of skilled and knowledgeable urban professionals in India who would plan, manage and govern their cities effectively. Endorsed by the Union Ministry of Urban Development, the certification programme has four complimentary phases, covering international and national experiences on municipal finances, service delivery, good governance and poverty alleviation. Senior municipal officials from Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra and the North-East States are taking part in the programme. The three-week programme would conclude with the preparation of institutional development reports, according to a release from the ASCI.
