Mixed trend in rubber prices

Our Correspondent

Kottayam , July 22

SHEET rubber RSS 4 lost 25 paise to close at Rs 66.50, while the domestic rubber prices showed a mixed trend on Thursday. The retreating monsoon kept the buyers inactive as the market appeared to be slipping slowly into a sellers' mode. All the other grades were steady despite lack of buyers in the market.

The rubber futures weakened further. The near month August delivery was quoted at Rs 63.47 (64.00), September delivery at Rs 58.49 (59.13), October delivery at Rs 55.53(57.04) and November delivery at Rs 55.01 (56.13) a kg for RSS 4.

The physical market rates per kg were as follows: RSS 4 66.50 (66.75); RSS 5 64.50 (64.50); ungraded 61.50 (61.50); ISNR 20 58.00(58.00); latex 60 per cent 48.00 (48.00).
