Events Supplyco fairs from Aug 12 Our Bureau
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Onam Metro Fairs organised annually by the Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) will begin from August 12, according to the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Mr G. Karthikeyan. A high-level meeting convened in this connection here decided to set up Metro Fairs in five City Corporation headquarters, 10 District Fairs at district headquarters and Thripoonithura and 86 other Onam Markets elsewhere in the State, an official spokesman said here. The various Onam fairs vending horticultural products at reasonable prices will start from August 18 in city corporation areas, and on August 23 in taluk and municipal headquarters and other areas. This time round, there will be 19 more Onam markets than the last year. They will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and will continue to function till August 27, the spokesman said.
