Financial Performance Corporate Results - Telecommunications Tata Telecom net up 80% Our Bureau
New Delhi , July 22 TATA Telecom Ltd has registered a growth of 80 per cent in net profit for the quarter ended June 2004 at Rs 8.14 crore compared to Rs 4.51 crore in the corresponding previous period. The company achieved a turnover of Rs 96.47 crore (Rs 75.12 crore), a growth of 28 per cent. "Tata Telecom will continue to make investments in our Indian operations and offer a wide spectrum of solutions to our customers," said Mr Niru Mehta, Vice-Chairman, Tata Telecom, in a statement. Earlier, the company had announced that the Tata group would sell to Avaya its equity of 25.1 per cent in Tata Telecom. "The formalities for this are on track. Further, the open offer for a minimum of 20 per cent of Tata Telecom's paid-up capital, at the rate of Rs 220 per share, has been completed," the statement added.
