ARVIND Mills Ltd has reported lower net profit at Rs 18 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2004, as against Rs 28 crore reported in the quarter ended June 30, 2003.

Revenues stood at Rs 396 crore (Rs 375 crore). According to the company, high cotton and naphtha prices have adversely impacted operating margins. Operating profit fell to Rs 89 crore (Rs 98 crore).

To take advantage of the robust demand of denim, the company is planning to de bottleneck the current manufacturing facility to increase the denim fabric capacity by 8 per cent by the third quarter of this financial year
