BANGALORE: Bharat Earth Movers Ltd has shown a net profit of Rs 5.19 crore for the first quarter ended June this year. It had reported a net loss of Rs 16.98 crore for the same quarter last fiscal. Profit before tax for the period was Rs 9.31 crore.

BEML said growth in net sales amounted to Rs 368.53 crore (Rs 317.80 crore).

The company has signed a 15-year contract with South Korean coach major Rotem for the transfer of technology to make stainless steel metro rail coaches. It had recently launched BL9H Backhoe loader for the contractor segment in Hyderabad.
