Hyderabad , July 23

TATA Teleservices, the private telecom service provider, while announcing the launch of Internet for Fixed Wireless Phones (FWP) to customers in Vizag has said the company subscriber base of FWP users crossed the one-million mark.

Tata Indicom wireless Internet rides on the CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) network offers customers an affordable and convenient way to surf the Internet. It also offers 31 additional features including SMS, speakerphone etc.

The Chief Operating Officer, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka Circle, TTSL, Mr Prabhat Pani, in a statement said, "Tata Teleservices recently crossed a one million mark in FWP and introduction of new features largely fuelled this growth."

Providing services in eight circles, TTSL has a subscriber base of over two million users and has acquired licences to operate in 12 more circles.

Tata Indicom is offering three tariff plans for FWP customers. As per the standard tariff, Internet access is offered at Rs 0.40 per minute ISP (Internet Service Provider) charges.

There will be no additional access or call charges. Thus, this use-based tariff package allows the customers to control Internet spend. There is no cap on data transfer under this package.
