Anti-dumping Dumping probe on compressors from China, Malaysia Our Bureau
New Delhi , July 25 THE Designated Authority in the Commerce Ministry has initiated anti-dumping investigation into imported compressors from China and Malaysia. The product under investigation is a "low temperature" application compressor of a kind used in refrigerating equipment. The Authority received a written petition from BPL Engineering Ltd, Medak, Andhra Pradesh, which was supported by Tecumseh Products India Ltd, Ballabhgarh, Haryana. The petitioner has claimed that goods produced by it are like articles to the goods originating in or exported from subject countries. The petitioner has furnished information on various parameters pertaining to material injury to the domestic industry. The Authority further held that parameters such as increase in the absolute volume of imports from the subject countries, increase in the market share of imports from the subject countries in total imports, decline in the import prices from the subject countries, significant decline in the domestic selling price, marked deterioration in profits, cash flow and return on investment, price undercutting and price depression, essentially indicate collectively and cumulatively that the domestic industry has suffered material injury on account of dumping of subject goods from subject countries. The period of investigation is from April 1, 2003 to March 31, 2004, a gazetted initiation notification issued here said.
