Tata Power net up by 2.2 pc in Q1

Mumbai , July 26

TATA Power Co Ltd has reported a 2.2 per cent increase in net profit in the first quarter of the current fiscal to touch Rs 101.6 crore against Rs 99.4 crore in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal.

A company press release, however, said: "As the wind farm was taken out of the licensee business as per MERC order, there was creation of additional Deferred Tax in respect of previous years aggregating to Rs 20 crore, restricting the PAT increase to 2.2 per cent."

The company's revenue from power supply during the quarter was Rs 1,039.26 crore against Rs 1,047.02 crore during the corresponding period of last fiscal. Also, revenue from non-power business increased by 63 per cent to touch Rs 43.4 crore during the quarter.
