Rubber unchanged; latex declines

AFTER a steep fall witnessed during last week, domestic rubber prices showed a steady trend on Tuesday. According to traders, the market might seek further lows once the arrivals gather pace. Meanwhile, latex 60 per cent remained on the negative side declining sharply in the absence of buyers.

The futures market turned better on Tuesday. The near month August delivery was quoted at Rs 61.18 (60.20), September delivery Rs 55.90 (54.40), October delivery Rs 54.15 (52.86) and November delivery at Rs 53.73 (52.77) per kg for RSS 4.

The Tuesday spot market rates per kg were as follows: RSS 4 63 (63); RSS 5 62 (62); Ungraded 59 (59); ISNR 20 56.50 (56.50); & Latex 60% 45.50 (47.50).
