Seminar on teaching in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The third annual State-level convention of the Council for Teacher Education will be held in Thiruvananthapuram on July 30 and July 31.

Announcing this at a press conference in the city on Tuesday, Dr K. Sivadasan Pillai, Chairman, Kerala State Centre, Council for Teacher Education, said a seminar on `Challenges of teacher education in the emerging context' would be organised as part of the convention.

The meeting will also discuss various issues related to improving teacher education in the State, he added. Establishment of a Directorate of Teacher Education is another issue that will be discussed at the convention, said Dr Pillai. Over 200 delegates from across the State are expected to participate in the meeting, which is being hosted, by the Government College of Teacher Education, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram.
