COIMBATORE: Indian Bank has launched a special unit for micro finance at its Pasur Branch.

The unit, mooted for the benefit of self-help groups (SHGs), distributed micro credit to 63 SHGs to the tune of Rs 45 lakh and Rs 60 lakh as credit to 50 farmers on Monday.

The bank has also introduced a special educational loan package - Vidya Shoba - for the SHGs, said the Chief Manager, Rural Banking Department, Mr M. Padmanabhan.
