Rubber plunges on hectic selling

THE rubber market fell again on Thursday. After a weak opening, prices began to plunge further as the market failed to absorb the hectic selling from traders.

In the futures, the August delivery was quoted at Rs 59.47 (59.72), September delivery at Rs 53.71 (53.97), October delivery at Rs 52.98 (52.61) and November delivery at Rs 52.30 (52.33) per kg for RSS 4.

The spot market rates per kg on Thursday were as follows: RSS 4 Rs 62 (63); RSS 5 Rs 60 (62); ungraded Rs 57.50 (59); ISNR 20 Rs 55 (56); latex 60 per cent Rs 43 (45).
