MRF third quarter PAT at Rs 17 crore

CHENNAI: MRF recorded a profit after tax of Rs 17.09 crore (Rs 15.33 crore) in the third quarter (April-June) of 2003-04, higher by 11.48 per cent in relation to corresponding period of the previous year.

The company's board has declared an interim dividend of 30 per cent on equity shares (face value of Rs 10) for the financial year due to end in September 2004.

For the first nine months of 2003-04, MRF's profit after tax was Rs 46.90 crore (Rs 52.96 crore), lower by 11.44 per cent. In the third quarter, the net sale was Rs 655.69 crore (Rs 545.62 crore), while the raw material cost came to Rs 431.20 crore (Rs 338.29 crore).

MRF's net sale in the first nine months was Rs 1,903.26 crore (Rs 1,583.54 crore), while raw material cost came to Rs 1,241 crore (Rs 1,020.76 crore). — Our Bureau
