Our Bureau

Mumbai , July 30

ESSAR Shipping reported a net profit of Rs 30.7 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal, a marginal increase from Rs 30.28 crore during the corresponding period of last fiscal.

This, according to the company, was mainly on account of higher number of vessels on drydock during the quarter and reduced available earning days. The company's income during the quarter was Rs 193.82 crore as against Rs 140.15 crore in the first quarter of last fiscal, representing an increase of 36.3 per cent.
