MRPL Q1 net at Rs 111 cr

MANGALORE Refineries and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) has reported a net profit of Rs 111.89 crore in the first quarter compared to a loss of Rs 86 crore last year.

Net sales in the quarter ended June 30, 2004 have doubled to Rs 4,238.38 crore (Rs 2094.40 crore) although other income has fallen to Rs 16.1 crore (Rs 23.8 crore).

The company's total expenditure has risen to Rs 3,916.30 crore (Rs 2,053 crore). Interest costs have fallen to Rs 66.95 crore (Rs 104.90 crore) while depreciation stands at Rs 94.17 crore (Rs 93.90 crore).
