Kolkata , Aug. 1 BENGAL Shrishti Infrastructure Development Ltd (BSID) has mandated SembCorp Infrastructure, one of the leading architects and structural consultants of Singapore, for its mega integrated township project spread over 100 acres at Asansol, West Bengal. The township project, estimated to cost around Rs 350 crore, will be the maiden venture of SembCorp, Singapore, in West Bengal in collaboration with BSID. Talking to Business Line, Mr Hemant Kanoria, Director, BSID, said the company has had a long term relationship with the SembCorp and other Singapore companies for jointly developing projects in West Bengal. He said the integrated township envisaged creation of housing for more than 7,000 families in a unique mixture of plotted land, houses and group housing structures. The Singapore company is undertaking master planning, detailed design, engineering and project management consultancy for the township project. Besides housing the township, according to BSID, would also be having various types of commercial facilities such as shopping complex, multiplex, entertainment complex and institutional areas. A sprawling ultra-modern club, spread over an area of 5 acres, would also be part of the township. Mr Kanoria said with the best skills and techniques being utilised through tie-ups with internationally reputed architects and construction managers, "it is our belief that this township shall become a model urban town planning and unique construction of human habitation, not only in West Bengal, but the entire country". BSID is a joint sector enterprise promoted by Asansol Durgapur Development Authority (ADDA) and Shrishti Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd, in line with the approved Government model for public-private partnerships. One of the on-going mega projects of BSID is the Durgapur city centre.
