Visakha Grameena bank to issue kisan cards

VISAKHAPATNAM: Sri Visakha Grameena Bank is planning to issue kisan credit cards to 30,000 small and marginal farmers, allocating Rs 60 crore for the purpose and the bank also proposes to lend Rs 40 crore to 18,000 self-help groups during the current financial year.

This was stated by the bank Chairman, Mr T. Madhava Rao, at a function at Sabbavaram, in the district on Saturday evening. At the function, 150 farmers were lent Rs 40 lakh by the bank.

The chairman said loans had been rescheduled in accordance with the instructions of the Government and farmers could get fresh crop loans.
