An employee of the Ernakulam Ticket Service at Kaloor Bus Stand, which prints and supplies tickets to private bus operators in Kochi, stacking the ticket bundles. The cost of the printed tickets per day per bus comes to Rs 20. Daily collection per bus ranges from Rs 3,500 to Rs 4,500. During the eight-day bus strike, which was called off on Tuesday, the private bus operators lost around Rs 10 crore (excluding the long distance buses). Around 30,000 buses participated in the strike. The KSRTC, which operated 562 additional services, made a saving of around Rs 25 lakh.
