WebEx extends network

BANGALORE: WebEx Communications, the provider of Web communications services, has announced that it has extended its MediaTone network throughout the country enabling Indian companies to use Web communications services to cost-effectively collaborate with customers, colleagues and partners across the world.

Mr Subrah Iyer, CEO, WebEx Communications, said the company expected to do more development and support work out of India — and leverage its presence and the offshoring capabilities of its operations in the country. About 20 per cent of the work is likely to be done happen out of India in the next couple of years. The quarter billion dollar company expects the rapid growth in the Indian service industry to fuel its business and according to Mr Iyer, its earlier acquisition of CyberBazaar for $5 million, would enable its penetration into the market, including catering to the needs of small and medium enterprises.
