Philips arm gets projector deal

THE multimedia projector division of Philips India Ltd has won orders that could run up to Rs 300 crore for multimedia projectors from Sebsons Digital Film (P) Ltd. In the first phase, 150 theatres in Kerala will be covered with projectors worth close to Rs 2 crore by August 15. The entire project plans to cover 4,000 theatres of which close to 2,000 theatres by end of 2004.

Philips Multimedia Projectors and Sebsons have offered a digi package to help digitising film-making. Sebsons will either produce or buy the distribution rights of such films made under the digi package.
