Right of recall

This is with reference to "Recall provision: People's leash, short and tight" (Business Line, August 3). The author has made a strong case, indeed, for the right of recall.

There are many other important pieces of legislation urgently required — for example, some sensible and practical way of dealing with `tainted politicians'. But few of these legislative initiatives will take off because politicians cannot reach a consensus. All parties are only concerned with parochial issues and vote bank politics.
