Jet Airways to launch new Delhi-Patna-Delhi flight

Ambar Singh Roy

Kolkata , Aug 4

JET Airways will introduce a daily Delhi-Patna-Delhi flight from August 16.

Flight 9W 727 will leave Delhi at 1920 hours and reach Patna at 2050 hours.

The return flight 9W 728 will depart from Patna at 2125 hours and reach Delhi at 2255 hours.

The one-way fare on the sector has been fixed at Rs 5,555.

As an introductory offer, the airline is announcing a `Take your Companion' privilege for passengers buying a return ticket on the Delhi-Patna-Delhi sector or vice versa.

The offer is valid between August 16 and September 15.

According to sources, Patna will be Jet Airway's seventh destination in the east and north-eastern region.

At present the airline operates flights to and from Kolkata, Guwahati, Imphal, Bagdogra, Jorhat and Agartala. Ex-Kolkata, the airline has on offer around 2,000 seats every day.

The sources said that Indian Airlines and Air Sahara already fly on the Delhi-Patna-Delhi sector.

However, these flights are during the day and, hence, there is no connectivity on the route in the evenings.

Jet Airways is banking on passengers who wish to finish their business in either Delhi or Patna and head back the same evening.

Besides, government servants are expected to patronise the airline's evening services. On the Delhi-Patna-Delhi sector,

the airline will deploy a Boeing 737-700 aircraft with a capacity of 20 business class and 102 economy class seats.

The 30-day one-way apex fare on the Delhi-Patna and Patna-Delhi sectors is Rs 4,340, while the 21-day and 15-day apex fares are Rs 4,510 and 4,850 respectively.

For the `Take your Companion' offer, tax will be applicable on the companion's tickets only, and has to be paid in cash.

While passengers have to travel the outbound journey together, the return journey can be completed separately.

Re-routing on companion tickets will not be permitted, sources said.
