New Delhi , Aug. 6

THE impasse between the travel agents and leading Europe airlines including German airlines Lufthansa ended on Friday with the travel agents agreeing to advise their members to start selling Lufthansa tickets again.

A statement issued jointly by the Travel Agents Associations of India, (TAAI), Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) and European carriers in India states that the European carriers have confirmed that the proposed reduction of the agency standard commission from seven per cent to five per cent has been withdrawn.

The proposed reduction in travel agents commission was to come into effect from September 1 this year. Among the airlines which had proposed a cut in travel agents commission included British Airways, Lufthansa, Austrian, KLM, and Air France.
