Special trains for `Pushkarams'

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: The South Central Railway (SCR) on Thursday decided to make elaborate transport arrangements and provide additional facilities at all the railway stations in the routes leading to Pushkar ghats in connection with Krishna Pushkarams.

SCR would operate 200 special trains in various routes including Vijayawada-Rajahmundry, Vijayawada-Gudiwada, Machilipatnam-Bhimavaram, Vijayawada-Ongole and Vijayawada-Guntur-Narsaraopet.

The SCR also plans to strengthen the long distance passenger trains and mail/express trains by providing additional coaches.

The additional number of coaches from and to the stations would be decided on a day-to-day basis depending upon the passengers' traffic.
