Big Four audit firms in bid for aMap testing

Sriram Srinivasan

Chennai , Aug. 6

THE Ahmedabad-based Audience Measurement and Analytics, which has entered the television audience measurement business with its online service aMap, plans to rope in one of the Big Four global accounting firms to validate its work.

Mr Francis Howard, Director, aMap, said his company is in talks with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, Deloitte & Touche and KPMG, and the one that best qualified, in terms of experience and systems, will be chosen.

The accounting firm will be asked to test the company's software, the processes involving collection and presentation of data and conduct spot checks.

Mr Howard said the people meters installed in 1,000 households in Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad were functioning well.

The company hopes to cover at least 10,000 households across other cities in a couple of years. Plans are on to measure viewership in key NRI markets too.
